Whitney Houston – I Didn't Know My Own Strength [live session cover by Peter Bosman ft Nienke Jansz]

It has been quite a while since I last released a live session cover (a cover that is produced by taking a single, complete take of playing and singing, so basically a recording of a LIVE performance at my studio). I love making full productions, with all its possibilities, but there is something pure and musical about doing a live session cover that makes me want to keep making these as well. Also, since we are talking uncut, single-take productions, there is nowhere to hide, so it shows the true talent of the vocalists that I work with. I’ve done live session covers with Nienke before, so I already knew that she is an awesome talent, but that only makes it even greater fun to return to doing another one of these with her!

I hope you enjoy our version of a song about strength in the face of adversity, originally sung by one of the greatest vocalists the world ever knew and sadly already left us. Note that this is a complete live session cover: meaning a live performance on both ends, without auto-tune, just some basic mixing and mastering for your listening pleasure.
